England to play Nigeria Ahead of World Cup
As preparation intensifies ahead of the 2018 World Cup, the English national football team has lined up a friendly against Nigeria. The match will be played at Wembley stadium.
According to source, the Football Association wanted England to face an African opposition ahead of their World Cup opener against Tunisia in Volgograd on 18 June. The friendly will also help Nigeria get in shape against their opener against Croatia on June 16.
England last played Nigeria at the 2002 Korea/Japan World Cup, drawing 0-0.
