Glo unveils Anthony Joshua as new Ambassador
Telecommunications giant, Globacom has unveiled world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Oluwafemi Joshua, as the star of its new communication direction campaign.
This development was announced at a media event in Lagos on Friday the 1st of February, 2019. The Nigerian-British boxing icon described the network as his reliable partner. “I respect the ownership and management of Globacom and as a Nigerian; I believe charity must begin from home. I believe in Glo”, he said.
There was also a lot of talk about the similarities that Glo and Anthony Joshua share during the event: “We have the fastest speed, longest reach and the Nigerian fighting spirit as game changers”.
Joshua holds four major world championship belts; International Boxing Federation (IBF) title, World Boxing Association (WBA) title, World Boxing Organisation (WBO) title and International Boxing Organisation (IBO) title. All of which were worn between 2016 and 2018.
Some of the telecommunication giant’s bigwigs present at the event were Mike Ehumadu, Regional Manager, Primary Sales (East) and Bisi Koleosho, Deputy Chief Operating Officer (Technical).
Globacom Telecommunications is a Nigerian multinational telecommunications company headquartered in Lagos. It is a privately owned telecommunications carrier that started operations on 29 August 2003. It currently operates in four countries in West Africa, namely Nigeria, Republic of Benin, Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire.
