Cote d’Ivoire to host AFCON 2023

We finally have a host for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023. The all African football games will now be hosted by Cote d’Ivoire in 2023.

Initially, Cote d’Ivoire had been scheduled to host the 2021 tournament, but that was changed after CAF asked Cameroon to host that instead.

Goal reports that The Federation of Ivorian Football (Fif) has accepted to host the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) instead of the 2021 edition.

Cameroon had been slated to host the 2019 tournament but they were stripped of the rights after failure to prepare adequately. They were later handed the mandate to host the 2021 games.

The 2019 AFCON games will be hosted by Egypt
