Jay-z replaces Diddy as the highest earning hip hop act in 2018
Forbes has announced the list of the top 20 richest hip hop acts for 2018, and for the first time in three years, Jay-Z tops the highly coveted list.
Jay-Z replaced Diddy who topped the list for two years. Jay’s rise to the top is mainly due to the rise in his interests in Armand de Brignac champagne, D’Ussé cognac, is stakes in Roc Nation empire, Tidal streaming service, and touring after the release of 4:44, and the OTR II tour.
Diddy falls to number two spot with an estimated with an estimated wealth of $64m from his interests in Ciroc and Revolt, DeLeón tequila, and his joint venture with Diageo.
Next on the list is super producer, Dr Dre. According to Forbes, Dr. Dre could is in line to receive a slug of Apple stock this summer worth well over $100 million; depending on Apple’s share price at the time, and he could pass Diddy and Jay-Z when that happens.
The next artists on the list are Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, and Drake.
