It’s another New Year and a lot of people have listed out their New Year resolutions, goals and all the things they want to achieve this year. However, by the end of the first quarter in March, many people would have abandoned their resolutions and goals lists and go back to their normal selves until another New Year. It doesn’t matter if your goals are for your physical wellbeing, or financial or educational etc, these tips will help you stay focused all through the year.
One step at a time– As simple as this may sound, walking one step at a time makes everything easier. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a step and so it is with our goals and objectives. Break everything into small tasks, and start. If you keep thinking and planning you will never start the project.
Goal supporting habits– In the end, we are the sum of our habits, our personality and character flaws are from our habits. So if you are going to achieve your goals then it is only logical to form habits that support your goal. Example, do you want to save more money this year? Then quit your money spending habits. Is it losing weight? Get a diet and exercise routine. Goal supporting habits help to shape you into the person you want to become
Truth tellers– These are your close friends, your personal persons, the people who will tell you the truth without any holds. You need them to hold you accountable. You don’t have to have many people like this, one or two would do but you need to have them, explain your goals to them and ask them to hold you accountable in times when you are derailing.
