US Tennis Associations fines Serena Williams $17,000
Tennis Star, Serena Williams has been fined $17,000 by the US Tennis Association for violating three violations in US Open finals.
During the game, Serena got into a heated argument with the umpire for penalizing her over alleged coaching, she called the umpire a liar and a cheat, accused him of being sexist and then broke her racket in anger.
The US Tennis Association fined her $17,000: $10,000 for the verbal abuse offence, $4,000 for coaching, and $3,000 for racket abuse.
Naomi Osaka became the first Japanese and first Haitian to win a grand slam title.
