#ThrowBackThursday: That time Terry G redefined ‘madness’

Terry G a.k.a the Akpako master has been a force to be reckoned with since 2009 after he produced and featured in 2shots’ In Case You Never Know and Aye Po Gan with Illbliss.

Before 2009, Terry G who was born Gabriel Oche Amanyi is the first of 4 children. He started out in the church and was first of a gospel artist before going commercial.

Terry G’s first album Free Me was released in 2008. It had hit songs such as Otipe, Shile and Ihotu . In 2009, Terry G released a second album Ginjah Ur Swaggah Season 1. The album had the song that somewhat defined Terry G’s career, Free Madness.

Terry G went on to invent the brand of music he called “Chante Chante” music. He has been nominated for many awards and has also won quite a handful of awards for his style. He won the Best Street Hop award at the hip hop music award in 2010

Apart from being a singer, Terry G is a top notch producer. He plays the keyboard, guitar and saxophone. He produced some of the hit songs in the early late 2009s and has worked with of Timaya, A.Y.com, 2shots, Illbliss, Jaywon, Terry tha Rapman, Naeto C and others.
