#ThrowBackThursday: Songs that made us fall in love with Wande Coal
Wande Coal, a.k.a the original Black Diamond, W Ceezy first came to limelight as a part of the now defunct Mo’Hits group. Wande Coal who was born in Lagos Island, Lagos State as Oluwatobi Wande Ojosipe. Wande Coal started singing in the church.
His big break came when he met the duo of D’banj and Don Jazzy. He worked with Don Jazzy and D’banj on the Rundown/Funk you up album. He was a vital part of Mo’Hits curriculum vitae album. His first official single, Olulufe has been described as one of the best love songs ever written by a Nigerian.
He later left Mo’Hits when the group faced troubles. Wande released another album, Wanted and has followed up with major hit singles.
Today we remember when Wande Coal’s sonorous voice began to rock our airwaves in the late 2000s.
