#WomanCrushWednesday: The beautiful, multi-talented Tiwa Savage

Our WCW on Avenue today is our very own Tiwa Savage. Tiwatope Savage-Balogun is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, performer and actress, born on 5th February 1980 and is popularly known by her stage name Tiwa Savage.

She is a multi-talented and hard working star and business woman. Currently, she has a songwriting deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing. Savage signed a recording contract with Mavin Records in 2012 and also signed a management and publishing deal with Roc Nation in June 2016 thereby making her the first Nigerian artist to be signed to the label. She co-wrote the track “Collard Greens & Cornbread” off Fantasia Barrino’s Grammy-nominated album.

Tiwa has featured in the television series like Shuga! season 3  and had an appearance as a supporting act in the movie For Coloured Girls in 2011. She has so many stage performances under her belt including her performance in the Big Brother Naija 2017 reality show Grand Finale and the 2014 MTV Africa Music Awards.

In her music career, she has had collaborations with the likes of WizKid, Patoranking, Olamide, Mi Casa, Lola Rae, Sarkodie, Diamond Platnumz, Davido and Omarion to name just a few. Savage has won at least 13 awards till date and has over 60 nominations between 2010 and 2016.

On 13 March 2018, a Lagos street was named after Tiwa Savage in Haven Homes luxury estate In Lagos.

Some of her biggest songs of all time are, Eminado, Without My Heart, KeleKele Love and My Darling.
